Is your project ready for wallpapering?
A Handy Checklist
At Wells Interiors, we pride ourselves on expertly installing wallcoverings that look stunning and stand the test of time. To achieve this, it’s crucial that the conditions on site allow our team to work efficiently and effectively, without facing delays, disruptions, or potential damage to the products during or after installation.
To ensure your project is primed for a flawless wallpaper installation, we’ve put together a comprehensive checklist. By completing this checklist, you’ll be able to confirm that all necessary preparations have been made, setting the stage for a smooth and successful installation.
Here’s what you need to consider before our team arrives on site:
- Skirting and architraves in place and finished
- Doors fitted
- All decoration completed, including final paint coats on ceilings
- Room lights in place and functioning
- Flooring finished (carpet is the only flooring that can be fitted afterwards)
- PIR removed if possible, or loosened off
- Old wallpaper and lining paper removed and walls made good so no filling is required
- No caulk or internal corners NB: If there is pre-existing caulking, it must be removed
- Room and any adjacent rooms accessed via the room must be dust-free and clean
- Workspace free of other trades
- A clear area for pasting tables can be set up, ideally in the same room as area being papered, or very close by NB: Not on another floor or outside
- All commissioned work completed where there is a chance that the technician could damage wallpaper by going in and out of access panels near finished walls
- All commissioned work completed where there is a chance that the technician could damage wallpaper by going in and out of access panels near finished walls
If you can answer YES to all of the above, then it’s pretty safe to say your project is ready for wallpapering. If in doubt, get in touch with us and we will help guide you through the process enquiries@wells-interiors.com.
